You know that feeling you get when you can't attend a party or event? Instead you're stuck having a boring night at home; stomach filled with exclusion and slightly enraged because someone you know is out having a good time whilst your not.
That's the bonus xp weekend. Except, with the bonus xp weekend, the party isn't fun.
I missed the last one back in March, and due to my sporadic RS timetable, there's a good chance I'll miss this one too. Yet I still have to deal with all the stress of planning it out in my head:- What should I train? What should I train at the beginning? What should I leave till the end? What methods are best to use? etcetera. Who am I carrying this burden of stress for? Am I really missing out if I don't make full use of the weekend? - probably not. But with all this hype and with the economy going mad, what else can I do but hop on the bandwagon.
In short, I'm no fan. Can't they just give us a lamp which rewards us 1% of our total XP to any skill of our choosing? That'd be much more enjoyable. A more serious suggestion maybe along the lines of unnamed bonus xp for random amounts of time, say 2-5 hours at any one time, then announce it after it's over. This way people can't plan for it and it doesn't last long enough for the majority of active RS players to realise, log on and swarm the GE as if they were a zombie and the GE was the last human survivor.
